　　According to the China Securities Journal, TSMC's first 2-nanometer factory, the Hsinchu N2 factory, is in the process of acquiring land and is scheduled to start construction in the third quarter of this year.

　　It is understood that the Hsinchu N2 factory will be constructed in four phases, with a total of four 12-inch wafer fabs built, and it is expected to mass-produce a new generation of chips for Apple mobile phones in 2024.

　　It is worth noting that it was reported recently that TSMC will invest up to NT$1 trillion to expand the 2-nanometer production capacity layout in Taichung, and reserve land for the follow-up 1-nanometer factory. TSMC told reporters that the company does not comment on market rumors.

　　Wei Zhejia, president of TSMC, said at the performance briefing for the first quarter of this year: "The development of 2-nanometer is going smoothly, and trial production is expected at the end of 2024, and mass production may be in the second half of 2025 or at the end of the year."
