SKhynix opens new M15X factory in Cheongju, South Korea next month

　　On September 6, 2022, SKhynix stated that in order to lay the foundation for future growth, the company will build a new semiconductor production plant M15X (eXtension) in Cheongju, Chungbuk, South Korea.

　　In consideration of market conditions, the company decided to start construction of the M15 expansion factory M15X on the secured land ahead of schedule.

　　SKhynix plans to start the construction of M15X in about 60,000 square meters of land in the Cheongju Science and Technology City Industrial Park in South Korea in October this year, and aims to complete the construction in early 2025.

　　The company plans to invest a total of 15 trillion won to build the M15X factory and introduce production equipment in the next five years.

　　The M15X is a duplex structure, and its size is similar to the sum of the existing Cheongju M11 and M12 factories.

　　In addition, SKhynix will decide the start time of the new M17 factory plan in the vicinity in consideration of the business environment such as semiconductor market conditions.
