According to "wccftech" news, Micron's 24Gbps GDDR6X memory has entered the mass production stage.
It is understood that GDDR6X is a derivative of GDDR6 jointly developed by NVIDIA and Micron. Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3090 Ti just hit the market, for which Micron makes 16Gb DRAM modules rated at speeds up to 21Gbps.
And 24Gbps GDDR6X memory modules can provide up to 1.152TB/s of bandwidth, which is a 14% increase compared to the 1.008TB/s offered on current 21Gbps GDDR6 memory modules.
According to wccftech sources, Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4090 will be launched later this year and will be one of the first next-generation graphics cards to use the latest GDDR6X memory modules.
It has been revealed that AMD's next-generation RDNA3 lineup may rely on its partner Samsung. Samsung is also developing 24Gbps GDDR6 memory modules, which are expected to be mass-produced soon.
