According to the "Business Times" report, AMD plans to speed up the iteration of CPU and GPU specifications, and fully introduce chiplet design to increase the number of cores and computing speed.
Among them, the new generation of 5nm Zen4 architecture CPU will be launched in the second half of the year, and the new RDNA3 architecture GPU will integrate 5nm and 6nm process small chips with multi-chip module (MCM) technology, which will be exclusively manufactured by TSMC.
The report quoted industry insiders as pointing out that AMD's main production in TSMC this year is 7nm and 6nm, but it will increase the amount of 5nm production in the fourth quarter.
AMD expects that the total number of 5-nanometer wafers will reach 20,000 in the fourth quarter, and has already booked TSMC's 5-nanometer production capacity in advance for next year.
